The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) will be joining the access2innovation network in order to strengthen the organisations work with renewable energy programmes in developing countries.
WWF sees innovative approaches and strategic multi-partner collaboration as key to overcome the challenges of access to renewable energy in developing countries.
“We see a large potential in working with Danish companies and researchers within the field of renewable energy,” says Jacob Fjalland, WWF senior advisor on Low Carbon Development.
“It takes a lot of resources to build up a network and concrete partnerships. We intend to use access2innovation as a facilitator for contacts to the industry,” says Jacob Fjalland
WWF and access2innovation will be starting their collaboration in Uganda where the WWF is leading a multi-stakeholder initiative aiming at reacing 100% access to renewable energy in a ‘champion’ district by 2030.
