On June 12th, access2innovation and WWF Denmark will be hosting a workshop on "greening of industries" - energy value chain optimization.
The workshop will focus primarily on tea- and dairy industries in East Africa. The goal is to help replace unsustainable energy systems with more efficient low-emission technologies.
By engaging in a joint partnership (consisting of at least 3 companies and 1 researcher), interested parties would be eligible to receive grant funding through the EU Regional Fund to develop and/or adapt solutions for the East African markets.
Applications will be divided into two phases:
1 - identifying the areas of value-chains for optimization
2 - concept / solution development in collaboration with local business partners and WWF.
The project will run for 12 months starting this summer.
At the workshop, participants will get a review of the application- and funding process and get introduced to local Kenyan businesses partners who are interested in pilot-testing solutions.
The total funding amounts to 1 million DKK. Funds are allocated to companies based on 50% of their current wage costs, formalities and application.
The workshop will take place on June 12th from 13-16 at Boulevarden 13, 9000 Aalborg, ground-floor (Repræsentationslokale 1.)
